Tuesday Night Social Paddle at Coffee Pot Bayou
The weekly group paddle that turns northeast St. Pete's calmest bayou into the friendliest hour on the water.

The Mangrove Dispatch

Every Tuesday at 6pm, a loose crew of paddlers gathers at the Coffee Pot Bayou launch. No fees, no sign-up, no drop-in required — you show up with a board (or rent one nearby), meet the group, and paddle out as the wind dies down. It's the easiest way on the bay to paddle with people instead of past them.
The basics
- When: Tuesdays, 6:00pm, light permitting
- Where: Coffee Pot Bayou public launch, east end of 30th Ave NE
- Who: all levels — it's a no-wake bayou, so first-timers are welcome
- Bring: a Coast Guard light for the carry-out, water, a dry bag
"It started with four of us and a group chat. Three months in, there were twenty boards on the water."
The paddle loops the bayou and heads north toward the mangrove fringe, then back as the sky goes pink over the east end. If the wind's up, the group stays inside the no-wake zone. Check the marine forecast in the afternoon — we cancel on anything over 12 knots.
