Coffee Pot Bayou at First Light
The neighborhood put-in that delivers mirror-flat water, herons, and the best sunrise in northeast St. Pete.

Coffee Pot Bayou is the kind of launch that spoils you for anywhere else. Sheltered, residential, and almost always calm, it's where northeast St. Pete goes to paddle before the day starts.
Where to put in
The public launch sits at the east end of 30th Avenue NE, with a small free lot and a sandy put-in. It's a no-wake zone the entire length of the bayou, which means no motor chop — just you, the pelicans, and the morning.
- Parking: small free lot, fills by 7:30am weekends
- Water: no-wake, sheltered, beginner-friendly
- Amenities: none on-site — bring water
Paddle north toward the mangrove fringe and you'll cross into the kind of silence that makes you check if your phone is still on. Aim to launch 40 minutes before sunrise; the bayou faces east and the light hits the water first.
